When The Movie Lot founder Tony Denham completed his first feature film Sliding Doors, he aspired to and strove to achieve The Movie Lot being involved in most of the major feature film, TV series and one-off dramas, commercials, events and pop promos of the last decade.
Office Services
The Movie Lot’s administration and background support is provided by our Office Manager, Jacqueline Shaw, who works on a full-time basis and has a solid work history in administration services, including Human Resources management, accounting and Office Management experience to companies in the service industry, and 2 years of experience with The Movie Lot in her role.
Working, and supporting Jacqui during busy spells is Sarah Edwards, who works on a part-time basis in the payroll section, as and when the operation requires, and also contributes a complete working background in administration services, and has 1 year of experience working with The Movie Lot to date.
Below is an overview of The Movie Lot Office’s duties, but please note these services are not limited to:-
- Acting as a daily contact for the location manager & Movie Lot Lead Man before, during and after a production The Movie Lot are working on.
- Managing and operating a bespoke invoicing process, and agreeing with the location manager their preference as to how our invoices are raised and submitted. Often budgets and costs are split, so understanding this need, we endeavour to make invoicing simple and user friendly, by for example splitting our invoices per location, strike, set build and shoot if necessary. Purchase order information is correctly checked and applied to the relevant invoice to speed internal processes up and payments, and any purchase order discrepancies highlighted to the location manager quickly and efficiently.
- Providing risk Assessment assistance, completion and distribution where necessary.
- Assisting production with copies of Public Liabiity & Employers Liability Insurances.
- Discussing invoices and answering any queries timely and effectively with the Accounts team. Continuing to update the accounts team regarding invoices outstanding and offer assistance where necessary. This includes highlighting any payment discrepancies for action.
- Generating quotes and service information as required.
- Assisting the management team by acting as the liaison and the voice of The Movie Lot, should the management team be out on location, and out of contact, so channels of communication are open at all times.
- Providing In-house support to Movie Lot sub-contractors with regards to general queries, payment of wages and pay remittance.
- Managing recruitment, maintaining the sub-contractor work database and recruitment administration, to ensure everyone working with The Movie Lot is SIA qualified and experienced and their working background and skills are suitable for the industry we service.
