With over a decade in the business, we know the pressures a busy production can bring. Some days there just doesn’t seem to be enough ‘hands on deck’. With this in mind, The Movie Lot prides itself in the level of location assistance we can bring to any set.
We bring the same attention to detail to all productions, big or small. Highlighted below are some of the services we bring to your set:Maintaining a good relationship with the Location owner, informing them what is happening and reassuring them that their property is being looked after with care and attention.
Helping the Location department with any problems or issues they may have 24 hours a day with a Movie Lot contact on site. Emptying and filling bowsers, positioning and erecting tower lights, fuelling and monitoring generators, towerlights, Sparks generators etc General upkeep of the Unit Base and Technical areas, liasing with the Facilites crew to make sure that the unit is running efficiently and any vehicle movement is safely monitored. 
Arranging post-shoot clean and litter pick of the location, set and unit base is all part of the service we provide.
We also have operatives that have completed powered access and plant operators licence courses and have the IPAF and CW cards and can use Telehandlers, Scissor Lifts and Gennie Booms on site and can be utilised by the Location Department.
Marquees are vital on location or in the studio to set up temporary areas such as crew dining, crowd holding, hair, make- up and costume. When marquees are in use, we will secure and maintain the area as well as litter collection, monitoring the heating/cooling system, also on the outside we will check the diesel levels for the generators and keep an eye out for any wind damage or faults
Tower lights are essential for night shoots, illuminating dark areas that the crew may work in, providing a secure and safe environment around the set, unit base and car parking areas. One of our duties is placing and setting up tower lights as per the Location Managers instructions.
We will also assist any large lorries, trailers, articulated or facility vehicles, acting as banksmen to safely reverse or help drivers to negotiate tight turns or narrow entrances. We also have vans on standby that can be hired to help with moving equipment, transporting and towing
The build period before a shoot is a busy time and the Location Team can be stretched and find themselves with too many places to be at one time. This is a crucial time to employ our operatives. We can always be on site, 24 hours a day, when you can’t be – supporting, securing and guarding your assets – your eyes and ears when you can’t be there.
